Contact one of the above agencies let staff know you are interested in starting a child care business from your home and would like to request an information packet or set an appointment to get started.
The contents of information packets vary by agency but may include things such as:
•
application forms;
•
training sources in your area for CPR and First Aid.
Step 2:
Contact a CACFP sponsor such as Children First. Child Care providers who complete any of the above methods can qualify for the Children First Food Program. All child care providers are subject to state approval.
Step 3:
Network in the community, start to build clients. Ask around to see who needs child care.
Step 4:
The most important step, stay positive and remember this is like any start up business it will take some time so the sooner you begin the process the faster you can begin. Be responsible to complete any of the paper work and guidelines provided to you and the process will go much faster.
Any of the above approval methods must be maintained while enrolled in the CACFP.
